Breidag 2013 at Groningen, Gezellig!

Wat een leuke ervaring!

It's the first time that the event takes place in Groningen, as far as I know, a very nice city in the north of the Netherlands. It was a good opportunity for my boyfriend and me to visit it. 

Most of the workshops and the stands were happening and opening respectively on Friday and Saturday, but the first workshop taught by Carol Feller would have its first session on Thursday and the last one on Friday. This one was really helpful and full of great advice to knit a seamless sweater.
On Saturday I also took the Double Knitting workshop from Daphne. A great new skill to learn from a wonderful teacher and friend!

Easter Knits

S'nB de Pijp was invited to go to a knitting event at Selexyz in order to promote the new Easter-themed knitting book by Arne & Carlos.

As part of the event, we were to knit from the Arne & Carlos Breien op Hun Paasbest book which featured patterns for items like eggs and rabbits.  So, I combined the two into one.

The Bunny Egg

If you'd like to make your own bunny egg, the egg is the generic egg pattern from the book, and I added ears and a pompom tail.  The ears begin as a 4-stitch i-cord that increases to a 6-stitch i-cord, the end yarn tail is then pulled through all stitches, hidden within the ear, and then sewn at the base to the egg.

Other sweet patterns from the book include this lovely rabbit pattern.  This particular sample was knit by our very own Anna!

Our SnB group

We are a group of knitters and crafters meeting every Wednesday night at Witteveen in De Pijp, Amsterdam, from about 7:30 until about 11pm. We do not teach but can exchange information about techniques. There are no additional charges other than your drinks and snacks.

Wij komen bij elkaar om te breien, haken of andere handwerktechnieken uit te voeren in café/restaurant Brasserie Witteveen. We ontmoeten elkaar elke woensdagavond van ongeveer half 8 tot ongeveer half 11.  We geven geen les maar kunnen wel informatie uitwisselen over technieken. Er zijn behalve je drankjes en eventuele hapjes geen verdere kosten aan verbonden.

Iedereen die mee wil doen is van harte welkom!
